A Pledge for Nature

This Heritage Week why not pledge to do one small thing to help nature thrive near you – in your garden, on your road, in your village, town or city.

It doesn’t take much to make some room for nature.

It's easy to get involved and make a difference.

  • Download the pledge postcard or pick one up at any Heritage Week event
  • Write your pledge
  • Stick it to your fridge so you don't forget!
  • Post it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #ItsInYourNature

Your pledge can be as simple as mowing the grass less often. It’s a win-win for you and the bees who live and feed in the long grass.

If you can spare a few hours once a week or once a month why not volunteer with a wildlife group or local litter clean-up.

Spend an afternoon building a bug hotel with the kids. You don't need lots of space, even a small garden can be wildlife-friendly. Why not come along to a Heritage Week bug hotel building workshop for hands-on help.

See how you can help make your school, community or workplace more nature friendly by creating a pollinator garden.

This Heritage Week get inspired at over 2,000 events happening around Ireland celebrating our natural, built and cultural heritage. See what's on near you.
