Event Registration Faqs

Is there a theme for National Heritage Week this year?

Each year the Heritage Council endeavours to promote a particular aspect of Irelands heritage during the week. This year we are focusing on promoting Ireland’s built heritage. Our feedback tells us that there is a huge demand to access historic buildings not usually open to the public. We hope that all owners and managers of historic buildings will take part in the week’s events and make them accessible to the public. It doesn’t matter whether your building is in public or private use or if it is a stately home, medieval castle, Norman tower or vernacular cottage- take part and contribute to the success of the week!

National Heritage Week provides a great opportunity to open up, showcase, promote and highlight Irelands many beautiful historic properties and gardens. There are many ways to make your property more accessible to the public during the week. Some examples include:

•Opening the property and or gardens to the public.
•Organising a guided tour highlighting the history and story of the property.
•Using your property as a backdrop to an event such as a music concert, historic talk or children’s event / family fun day with a heritage theme.

These are just some suggestions and what you do and how you do it is up to you
