THIS year, to coincide with Heritage Week, the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) is holding Whale Watch Ireland 2008 (an All-Ireland whale-watching day) on Sunday 24 August from 2-5pm....

2008: Walled Towns Day 24th August
The day will be packed with events, such as battle re-enactments, medieval drama, pageants, puppet shows, music, crafts and guided tours of the towns and city walls.

2008: The Majestic Bilberry Goats Of Waterford
This gentle-natured, shaggy-haired species can only be found on the hills within Waterford city limits where the herd has been living for hundreds of years and yet they are feral - a wild roaming herd of goats living in an urban area.

2008: Postcards From The Big Alley
The Aim of ‘Postcards From The Big Alley’, is to encourage awareness and appreciation of old ‘big alleys’- the 30x60 feet handball alleys built across Ireland mainly in the first half of the 20th century, and to encourage community pride in these alleys.

Visitors to the Callan Workhouse in Kilkenny from 26-30 August will witness a site-specific event that combines theatre and visual arts in an extraordinary way. Performed by Asylum Productions, Six by Sundown is described as a "promenade-style visual spectacle".
